About Us

Riverside Desert Program provides an opportunity for individuals to experience an immersive learning experience that takes young people out of their comfort zone so they can address the issues that are holding them back from success.  Managed by Dr. Jon Carnegie through Carnegie Education, the program takes young people out of the environment that is contributing to their issues and enables them to gain clarity and develop the skills and confidence they need to move forward. Dr. Jon Carnegie is a renowned educator with a Bachelor Education, Doctorate of Education, Diploma of Youth Work and a Cert IV Training and Assessment.

Riverside Desert Program operates as a sole trader providing youth services in compliance with the legal and regulatory requirements of the State of Victoria. We are committed to upholding all relevant legislation to ensure the safety, well-being, and dignity of our clients.

Our compliance includes:

  • Privacy Legislation: We follow the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic), which governs the handling of personal information, ensuring confidentiality and respect for individual privacy.

  • Anti-Discrimination Legislation: We adhere to the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic) and the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth), promoting inclusivity and protecting individuals from discrimination based on disability, gender, race, and other attributes.

  • Workplace Health and Safety Legislation: We follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic), ensuring a safe environment for both clients and animals involved in the therapy program.

  • Child Safety Legislation: We are committed to the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005 (Vic) and the Child Safe Standards, ensuring that children receiving therapy services are protected from harm and abuse.

By adhering to these legislative frameworks, Riverside Desert Program ensures a challenging yet safe environment for all clients, with a particular focus on individuals with behavioural needs.

Our Philosophy

At Riverside Desert Program, we believe that true growth and transformation occur when individuals step out of their comfort zones. Our program offers young people a unique and immersive learning experience that helps them confront the issues holding them back from achieving success. By temporarily removing them from the environment contributing to their challenges, we provide an opportunity for clarity, reflection, and personal growth.

We are committed to empowering young people to take control of their futures, equipping them with the tools and mindset necessary for lasting success. Through a holistic and compassionate approach, Riverside Desert Program fosters resilience, self-awareness, and the personal growth that allows individuals to thrive.
